Abandoned Beauty is a first person level with simple game tasks that are based around a scenario that was given to me by my instructor. Players start off in an abandoned shanty town where they must find and collect 5 missing pieces to the hang glider which they are building. After finding all pieces, they can open the gates to the town, walk down the path, build the hang glider, and use it to fly down to the bottom of the map.
Abandoned Beauty was one of the first experiences I had with developing a level in Unity3D at Full Sail University. Over the span of 3 weeks, we were tasked with creating a playable level with strict gameplay mechanics/tasks that the teacher gave us. The purpose of this project was to familiarize ourselves with a basic level design workflow utilizing design documentations, mock-ups, and various research to better help the implementation of the level. While most of the level was focused around environmental level design, other small gameplay features were also implemented such as: in-game events, cut-scenes, interact-able objects, collectibles, and animations.
